Why 'Stage not Age' Changes Everything
When a baby class groups children by age, it creates an invisible comparison. A nine-month-old who isn't yet sitting looks around the room and — through their parent's eyes — falls short. That feeling is one of the most common and least helpful experiences of new parenthood.
Little Roots is built on a different principle. We group babies by developmental stage. A baby who has just learned to sit and a baby who has been sitting confidently for two months are at different stages. They need different things. So they are in different classes.
Stage not age means every baby in the room is exactly where they need to be. And every parent can stop measuring and start noticing.
Seedling Classes
Little Roots classes are grouped by developmental stage, not age. There are three classes in the Seedling range — each one designed to meet your baby at exactly the right point in their development.
Seedling 1
from birth to sitting unaided. The world is brand new and every sensation matters. This class is built around head control, sensory experience, and the earliest movement patterns.
Seedling 2
from sitting to crawling. Your baby is beginning to explore the world independently. This class supports the coordination, strength, and curiosity that drives that exploration.
Seedling 3
from crawling to walking. Movement is everything at this stage. This class supports gross motor development, physical confidence, and the beginnings of social play.

Baby massage is one of the most powerful things you can do for your baby in the early months. A skill you learn once and carry with you forever.
